But you can’t help thinking her human customers get more pleasure from her creations than their pets.
Not surprisingly, she recommends bribing your cat with treats
before fixing one of her miniature bowlers, berets or stovepipes on its
head.
Once that’s done the transformation can be magical. ‘Quite
possibly the most awesome thing I have ever purchased,’ wrote one
delighted customer on her website, To Scarborough Fair. ‘Particularly
after a few cocktails.’
Another wrote: ‘Awesome, my fierce pussy cat looks psychotic but hilarious.’
‘I haven’t managed to get it on to any of my cats yet, but I had some fun with my chihuahua,’ said a third.
Ms Segarceanu, of Atlanta, Georgia, explains their unique
appeal: ‘The hats are great as photo props, for Halloween, or for any
other fun moments of interaction with your pet.
‘They are very lightweight and comfortable and, with a little
extra tlc, some treats and a little patience, they will get adjusted and
comfortable wearing them.’
And who can argue? There’s a mini St Patrick’s day hat, a
Santa cap and even one for a mad hatter, or is that catter? Her next
designer range must surely be mittens for kittens.
