'Heaven is a half-pipe' went the song – but former world champion skater Pierre-Andre Sénizergues is making his dream come true in his own home - with even the kitchen sink designed for tricks.
The PAS House, named after Mr Sénizergues, will boast three rooms in a 3m (10ft) flattened tube and not a corner in sight.
There will be curved walls up to the ceiling and built-in
furniture rimmed with steel so the 48-year-old can perform his tricks in
every room. ‘I can be in this house that is my playground and live my culture 24/7,’ said the Frenchman. Designer Gil Le Bon Delaponte, a fellow skateboard fanatic
from France, said: ‘We’re seeing how skating can influence design and
the way we live.’ A full-scale model of the sitting room built out
of plywood is on display in Paris at an exhibition celebrating
skateboard culture. A previous design proved too complicated to
develop and the new concept boasts a single storey set-up with bedroom,
kitchen/diner and sitting room all alongside. But one comment from
a user called ‘Rom’ left on the house’s website was sceptical: ‘The
fact this exists means somebody has way too much money.’ /Metro/
