Azerbaijani kamancha player Imamyar Hasanov has represented Azerbaijan in the International Music Festival called “The Richmond Folk Festival” held in Virginia, the United States. According to Hasanov, the festival has brought together musicians from the US, UK, Iceland, India, Brazil, Pakistan, Bulgaria, Czech and other countries.
Azeri kamancha player also gave master classes in one of the biggest higher schools in Virginia.
The festival attracted an estimated 200,000 people. Hasanov has performed mugham compositions, such as Rast, Mahur, Shushtar and Shur and music pieces by Azerbaijani composers.
Music pieces by Hasanov were included into the arvchive of the US Congress Library.
