Second-year student at Baku Music Academy, violinist Mustafa Mehmandarov has won first place and Gold Medal International Competition of Musicians in Luxembourg. The competition which was held for 27th time under the patronage of the Society of Grand Duke Adolf brought together 128 musicians of different specialties.
The event of violinists involved 41 participants from Luxembourg, Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Lithuania. According to the contest’s rules, none of the contestants were allowed to rehearse a program in the Hall of the Conservatory of Luxembourg before the performance.
Participants from Azerbaijan, Georgia and France were announced the best upon the decision of the international jury which included well-known European musicians.
