A musical festival to mark the 200th anniversary of Frederic Chopin has completed in Azerbaijan's capital after featuring competition of young pianists for three days. The festival saw participation of secondary musical school students from across Baku to perform works by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven and also Azeri composers.

Fuad Alizade, the winner of the contest, has earned the right to join an international Chopin festival due in Poznan, Poland. The Baku festival was co-organized by the Polish embassy and Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
