Azerbaijan Culture Minister Adil Karimli has met with the Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova, who visited Azerbaijan in connection with COP29, Azernews reports citing the Azerbaijan Culture Ministry.

Welcoming the Minister, Adil Karimli expressed his gratitude to his colleague for participating in this prestigious event held in Azerbaijan.

Highly appreciating the level of cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, the minister drew attention to the fact that cooperation in this area has been further strengthened in recent years.

It was underlined that the organization of mutual tours of artistic collectives of the two countries, exchange of experience in the field of art education, regular participation in exhibitions, competitions and festivals create a complete picture of our relations.

The Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said that Azerbaijan is hosting such a prestigious event as COP29 at a high level, and expressed her satisfaction with being in Baku on this occasion. The guest minister also highly appreciated the prospects of cultural relations between the two countries.

Adil Karimli provided information about the agenda of COP29 related to culture and environmental issues.

He noted that the Second High-Level Meeting of Culture Ministers on Culture-Based Climate Action was held within the framework of the event.

A session dedicated to the "Culture for Climate" (C4C) initiative put forward by Azerbaijan and a presentation of this initiative will also be held under the auspices of the Group of Friends on Culture-Based Climate Action under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Azerbaijan Culture Ministry.

During the conversation, views were exchanged on issues of mutual interest.
