By Laman Ismayilova The ancient walls of Icherisheher became an amazing and unique backdrop for ethnic collections of Kazakh and Azerbaijani designers. Fashion brands "Jado" and "K. Fabuel" were presented to fashionistas in the ancient part of Baku – Icherisheher within Azerbaijan Fashion Week, Trend Life reported. One of the most diverse and colorful fashion shows - Azerbaijan Fashion Week was held in Baku on May 23-27. AFW saw fabulous collections by local and foreign designers. The 5th edition of the event was co-organized by Azerbaijan’s Culture and Tourism Ministry and the Administration of State Historical-Architectural Reserve "Icherisheher". The runway shows took place in Fairmont Baku Flame Towers, the Stone Chronicle Museum and Icherisheher. AFW is held twice a year in November and May. More than 60 designers from Azerbaijan, Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, France and Spain participated in last four seasons. The main purpose of the Week is to popularize growing fashion industry in Azerbaijan and give an opportunity to young and talented designers to show their work to the world. It's a place that gathers local and international buyers, press and fashion critics together. The event is open for fashion experts, including buyers of fashion retail chains and shops, representatives of glossy international as well as local publications.
