The hall presents an exhibition of mini layouts of Shaki`s historical-cultural monuments, including the Palace of Shaki Khans, Albanian Kish temple, fortress "Gelersan-Gerarsan" ("Come and see") and other historical monuments. Famous public and art figures, as well as residents of Sheki attended the opening ceremony, Azertac reported. The visitors had a chance to travel through time to discover the architectural treasuries of the region. Known for its beauty and charm, Shaki is a unique place that has preserved the culture of urban planning inherent to medieval towns. For centuries this beautiful city, which is located along the route of the ancient Silk Road, was an important center of art and commerce. It was one of the biggest cities of the Albanian states in the 1st century. The main temple of the ancient Albanians was located there. Rare historical and architectural monuments of the city - caravanserais, mosques, minarets, walls, bridges, etc. indicate ancient architectural style of Sheki. The palace of Shaki Khans is one of the most precious pearls of this unique place. The maples in the palace's yard are even older than buildings there. Ashagi and Yukari Caravanserais built in the 18th century are an exotic venue for tourists. Sheki is home to a number of ancient arts. Tinners, potters, hatters and musical instrument makers are working there. Shebeke ornament is one of the ancient arts in Sheki, what made Sheki famous around the world. Rich flora and fauna are "must-see" for any tourist traveling through the countryside in Azerbaijan. The region is famous for its nuts, hazelnuts, chestnut, apple, raspberry, strawberry and some herbals. Shaki wines are very popular outside the country. The region produces red and white wines. The region has its own unique and rich cuisine.
