Hungarian-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, the diaspora organization of Azerbaijanis in Budapest published calendars in Azerbaijani and Hungarian language for year 2013. The calendars are devoted to one of great Azerbaijani painters – Sara Manafova. Her famous paintings such as “Auto-portrait”, “Khojaly Tragedy”, “Baku – City of Winds”, “Spring. Azerbaijan”, “Karabakh – My Pain”, “Crucified love”, “Sleeping girl”, their names and painted years have been illustrated on each page, her achievements and biography have been written on the last page of calendar. Published calendars have been distributed to government and non-government organizations, business entities, Azerbaijanis living and studying in Hungary.
Hungarian-Azerbaijan Friendship Society has been functioning since 1994 with support of The State Committee on Affairs with Diaspora of Azerbaijan Republic. 90 % of the members of this society are Hungarians. The society aims to inform Hungarian community about Azerbaijan, its history, old traditions, national holidays, and achievements.
This calendar is traditionally published in Hungary every year. Calendars for 2011 were devoted to Tahir Salahov, for 2012 were devoted to Toghrul Narimanbeyov.
