The Baku forum will promote the development of Azerbaijani-Georgian cooperation in the field of protection intangible cultural heritage in Georgian and Azerbaijani museums, said chairman of the Georgian National Committee of the International Council of Museums Inga Karaya in Baku.

Speaking to journalists prior to the international forum titled "The cooperation between museum communities and government agencies to protect and promote the intangible cultural heritage", on September 24 in Baku Business Center, Karaya praised the Baku forum. Noting that each year, Georgian and Azerbaijan museum experts have reciprocal visits, Inga Karaya stressed that our countries cooperate closely in all fields and implement a number of joint projects.

She has emphasized the importance of the Forum for the study and settlement of the problems related to the protection of intangible cultural heritage.

Next month Tbilisi will host international seminar on these issues, which will involve experts from Australia and Austria, as well as representatives of the Azerbaijani museums. The seminar will focus on the various recommendations and methodology for the protection of intangible cultural heritage.

The Baku Forum was attended by representatives of National Committees of the International Council of Museums of Azerbaijan, Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, and the UNESCO expert for the intangible cultural heritage.
