Azerbaijan rejected to construct new metro stations in a vestibule style.
Deputy Chief of Arif Resulov said that currently, works are carried out in construction of several new stations: “We will build all the new stations without vestibule”.
“There are not venues in the capital for construction of such entrances so far and the entrances of all new stations will be subsoil”.
Note that, in accordance with the president’s order on “Some measures related to perspective development of Baku Metro”, project on State Program on Baku Metro development has already been started. For the work on the mentioned state program, companies of Korea, Austria, France, Germany, Russia, Czech Republic and Spain have participated in an open tender held BY Baku Metro. Consequently, 3 companies were selected and consortium has been created, which includes French company SYSTRA, English Mott MacDonald and South Korea’s Saman company. A consortium made up of a conceptual scheme of Baku Metro lines, which was approved by the head of state of the country.
In accordance with conceptual development scheme it has been considered to build 53 stations until 2030. As a result of it, the number of metro station will hit 76, length of subway lines will reach 119 km. In accordance with the strategy, there will be 5 independent metro lines in the network.
