Some $20 bn capital will be directed to fulfillment of Shahdaniz perspective structure’s full-scale development located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, President of BP-Azerbaijan Rashid Javanshir said at the the 18th International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference Incorporating Refining & Petrochemicals.

Speaking about the works to be carried out within framework of Shahdaniz project, Javanshir noted that these works had to be coordinated completely for implementation of the project in time: "2 years after the construction of two new platforms here, the production will be reached to the maximum. Extra 16 bn cubic meters of gas will be produce in a year".

"At present it produces 9 billion cubic meters, and production is carried out only on one platform".

Javanshir also spoke about the work undertaken within the framework of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, the ShahDeniz, Baku-Supsa pipeline, etc.

"1.8 billion barrels of oil and 23 billion cubic meters of gas was produced in the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli deposits block so far. And 500 tankers were uploaded and sent via Baku-Supsa pipeline. Sangachal terminal can store 3 million barrels of oil", he added.
