Three more Azerbaijani experts will pass internship in February-March, 2010 within the International Atomic Energy Agency project to study possibilities of construction of nuclear reactor in Azerbaijan, IAEA representative on Azerbaijan Andrei Chupov said.
He said the project is under the elaboration now and three Azerbaijani experts have already passed trainings this year.
“IAEA assists Azerbaijan only with recommendations and training of experts. Decision about the construction of nuclear reactor can be made only by the Azerbaijan government”.
Chupov said IAEA was also working with Azerbaijan on improvement of radiotherapy at the National Oncology Center.
“We have achieved significant successes in this field. Number of people addressing this center has increased, but reason of that is not an increase of the number of ill people. The patients not travel abroad for treatment any more and address the local center. There are modern radiotherapy equipment and professional experts at the center”.
Chupov said they were working on the project on improvement of diagnosis and therapy in the oncology center of Ganja city.
