As reports the press service for the International Bank of Azerbaijan, directors' board of the US Federal Reserve System gave approved the IBA application for the opening of the representative office in New York on July 31.
Thus, huge work for registration of the representative office in the United States, initiated by the International Bank of Azerbaijan more than a year ago, completed successfully.
A source from the bank told Day.Az that due permission documents from the New-York department on banking issues are expected to be received after which the representative office will be able to officially start its activity.
Considering the New York office, the number of IBA representatives beyond the country will reach 4. Presently, the representative offices are functioning in Frankfurt (Germany) and London (Great Britain), as well as the recently opened office in Luxembourg. The work on registration of Bank's representative office in Dubai has also been initiated.
The IBA representative office in New York will be a mediator between the head office of the bank in Baku and financial partner institutions of the bank in the United States, secure interests of bank's existing customers in the United States and attract new customers for services, ensure raising investments from the United States to Azerbaijan and promote establishment of mutually profitable relations between the US and Azerbaijani business circles.
