The external debt of Azerbaijan made $2,596,500,000 as of April 1 of 2008 which is a 6.4% of the country's GDP.
Day.Az reports with reference to the finance ministry of Azerbaijan that the per capita debt makes $300.9.
$32 mln of raised credits was used in the first 3 months of 2008.
At the same time, the expenses for repayment of external debt made $40.7 mln, including main debt $33.8 mln, interests $6.9 mln, including $14.3 mln from the budget, repayment of main debt to the International Monetary Fund $10.2 mln.
The structure of Azerbaijan's debt is as follows:
1. Credits for economic reforms $377.7 mln (share in the total amount 14.5%),
including:
-International Monetary Fund -$94.3 mln (3.6%) -World Bank-$283.4 mln (10.9%)
2. Credits for investment projects-$2,218.8 mln (85.5%)
including:
-Electric energy sector-$945.7 mln (36.4%) -Agriculture and melioration-$200.4 mln (7.7%) -Road construction and transport-$471 mln (18.1%) -Chemical industry-$41.2 mln (1.6%) -Oil and gas sector-$170.7 mln (6.6%) -Reconstruction of released lands $56.3 mln (2.2%) -Social spheres-$189.8 mln (7.3%) -Other spheres-$143.7 mln (5.6%).
