Insurance companies operating in Azerbaijan collected a total of AZN 88.330mln in premiums during 2006. Ateshgah Joint Stock Venture tops the list of collections.
The company collected AZN 13.750mln in premiums or 15.57% of the total collections in insurance. The second comes AzAL-Sighorta (AZN 13.45mln) and the third is Standard Insurance (AZN 8.39mln). Nishan Joint Stock Company rounds out the list (AZN 2.000). The companies paid a total of AZN 43.620mln for insurance claims. Ateshgah also leads the list here. It paid AZN 14.770mln or 33.86% of the total payments for claims, APA reports. AzAL-Sighorta is the second (AZN 9.79mln) and AzerSighorta State Company is the third (AZN 3.84mln) in the list.
