The Government of Azerbaijan has implemented a free "COP29 Special Visa" for participants registered for COP29 through the UNFCCC Online Registration System (onlinereg.unfccc.int/onlinereg), Azernews reports citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan provided this information.

It was noted that the "COP29 Special Visa" will be issued within three (3) working days after a complete online application is submitted through the official portal or after submitting a complete application to the diplomatic missions and consulates of the Republic of Azerbaijan abroad.

The expiration date of the visa will be indicated on the "COP29 Special Visa." Visa holders must leave the Republic of Azerbaijan before the visa expiration date. If you choose to apply for the "COP29 Special Visa" through the official electronic visa portal, please access the portal via the link, fill out the form completely, upload the required documents, and submit your application for approval. Once approved, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to download your "COP29 Special Visa."

Currently, a visa-free regime exists between the Republic of Azerbaijan and several countries based on bilateral intergovernmental agreements. Participants can obtain additional information about visa-free countries from the following link: www.mfa.gov.az/en/category/visa/visa-free-countries.

In this case, participants can enter the Republic of Azerbaijan without a visa and do not need to apply for a "COP29 Special Visa." Participants are advised to apply for a "COP29 Special Visa" immediately after their UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) registration is confirmed and if they plan to visit the Republic of Azerbaijan with a valid visa.
