April 13, meeting of the Board of Directors of the BTC CO. Company will take place in Baku.
According to the executive director of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan Republic (SOFAR) Samir Sharifov, expenditures on construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline and claims raised by the Turkish BOTASH Company for allocation of additional resources will be discussed at the meeting. After that, relevant proposals will be presented to the government: "We make all efforts to prevent increasing of expenditures in the pipeline building process. The BOTASH Company must complete the project timely and should not advance claim". The BOTASH Company of Turkey spent $1.4 billion allocated for construction of the pipeline and raised claim for additional $400 million.
