Middle East Petrol of Dubai intends to invest some $68m in the reconstruction of the Azerbaijani terminal in Dubandi, Abdulbari Gozal, the President of Middle East Petrol, told Trend on Wednesday.
It is planned to carry out refurbishment of 2 piers of the terminal and dredging operations for admission tankers with big capacity. At present the capacity of Dubandi is 6-8 million tons, while the expansion will enable to increase it 20 million tons.
"The analysis showed that Dubandi was the safest terminal. Protected by Pirallahi Island, it can carry out delivery of oil cargo in different weather conditions,” he underlined.
Gozal also spoke about construction of new onshore oil terminal in Garadagh, near Sangachal terminal of BP company. "The terminal will connect the Sangachal terminal with pipelines for oil pumping via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export oil pipeline,”- he said.
