US Congressman Gerald E. Connolly from the state of Virginia has promised to keep the concerns of Azerbaijani-Americans in mind as discussions on genocide and related resolutions proceed in the House of Representatives.
Congressman Connolly sent a letter to the Azeri Diaspora members answering its last month campaign concerning the tragic events that happened on March 31-April 1, 1918, known as the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis. "I am a staunch believer in the importance of human rights and of the need to ensure that the human rights atrocities of the past not be allowed to occur again", said the Congressman.
