Lithuanian Minister of Education met with Azerbaijani students studying in Lithuania

On 15 October 2010 Lithuanian Minister of Education and Science Mr. Gintaras Steponavičius invited for a reception Azerbaijani students studying in Lithuania. The reception was held in the Ministry, where Mr. Steponavičius warmly welcomed students and discussed their experience in studying and living in Lithuania.

“We are very happy that the young generation is actively participating in strengthening of the ties of Azerbaijan and Lithuania in the area of education” – said the Minister. – “They see studies in Lithuania as very perspective and we are doing our best to ensure the best quality of studies”.

“It’s a big honor to us as students to be personally welcomed by Lithuanian Minister of Education and Science. We were very happy to come to this reception” – noted one of the invited students.

There are over 30 students from Azerbaijan studying in various universities in Lithuania. Part of them was invited to study on the basis of Memorandum signed between the Embassy of Lithuanian in Azerbaijan and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, others applied directly to the chosen universities.
