Strongest Azerbaijani rowers to participate in Mingachevir Regatta

All strongest Azerbaijani rowers will participate in the international Mingachevir Regatta-2011 academic rowing and canoeing championship to start on 6 November.

Threefold world and European canoeing champion Valentin Demyanenko, European champions Sergey Bezugly, Maxim Prokopenko and European champion among 23-year-old Andrew Kraytor will take part in the regatta, sources in the Rowing Federation of Azerbaijan said.

Demyanenko, Bezugly and Prokopenko won Olympic licenses recently. Owners of Olympic licenses Alexander Alexandrov and Natalia Mustafayeva, as well as young rowers Boris Yotov, Rufat Valizade, Mirnazim Javadov and Tamerlan Mustafayev will also participate in academic rowing regatta.

Invitations were sent out to many national federations to take part in Mingachevir Regatta and the participants will be announced in near future. The Regatta will be held at Olympic Centre Kur.
