Azerbaijani billiard players in world championships in Kiev

Free Pyramid World Championships, a form of Russian billiards also known as the "American", is taking in the Ukrainian capital Kiev.

Seven representatives of Azerbaijan took part in it originally. Three of them, Saleh Mustafayev, Niyazi Khalafov and Seymur Mammadov, managed to qualify for 1/32 finals.

Mustafayev lost to Ukrainian Sergei Tsilyk with a score of 3:6 in the playoffs. Khalafov was defeated by the other host of the competitions Vadim Koryagin - 2:6. Only Mammadov could secure a win. He beat Russian Alexander Chepikov 6:4.

Seymur lost to Kazakh Alibek Omarov (4:6) as early as in 1/16 finals and left the World Championships.
