Azerbaijan's Mammadyarov climbs to 3rd spot at World Blitz Chess Championship

Azerbaijani chess grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadyarov has made it to third place at the World Blitz Championship in Moscow after being held to a draw by his teammate Teymur Rajabov in the 14th round.

Mammadyarov now has 9.5 pts and is topped by Magnus Carlsen (10 pts) and Levon Aronian (10 pts). The next round will pit Mammadyarov against Carlsen. The tournament will feature 38 rounds.
