Azerbaijani canoeists qualify for world championship final

Canoeing duo, consisting of Azerbaijani rowers Sergei Bezugly and Maxim Prokopenko, ranked the first in the qualifying race for 1000 meters of double boats (C-2) at the World Championships, which started today in the Polish city of Poznań, the Azerbaijani Rowing Federation told Trend.

Duo Bezugly-Prokopenko scored three minutes 34.98 seconds and left behind their closest rivals from Latvia, Czech Republic, Canada, Hungary, Great Britain, Chile and Vietnam. Thus, the canoeing duo, won a license to the world championship final, to be held on August 21.
