Azerbaijani distance runner Khayle Ibrahimov fought his way to the final of the European Championships in Barcelona at a distance of 5,000 meters. In the semi-final race he came to the finish line first with the result of 13:32.98, setting a national record.
Ibrahimov has already become the second Azerbaijani athlete who made his way to the final. A day earlier, Layes Abdullayev won a right to participate in the decisive race at a distance of 3,000 meters also setting a national record.
