Azerbaijan wins World Para-Taekwondo Championship

Azerbaijan has won the first place among 21 countries at the World Para-Taekwondo Championships in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The Azerbaijani athletes triumphed having taken 1 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals. Russians became the second, while Turkish and Spanish athletes took the third and the fourth places, respectively. In the point of reckoning, Azerbaijan scored 23 points.

The best result was achieved by men (1-4-3), who outstripped rivals from Turkey, Spain and Russia. In the point of reckoning Azeri athletes scored 22 points.

Huseyn Hasanov (weight division under 68 kg) of Azerbaijan has become a World Champion. Anar Huseynov, Mahmud Samedov (both 68 kg), Vusal Ismayilov, Jahangir Bayramov (both 80 kg) took silver. Emin Nusraddinov, Rovshan Gahramanly (both 58 kg), Vugar Adishirinov (80 kg) and the only women in the Azerbaijani team Aynur Mammadova (over 67 kg) took the bronze.
