FC Qarabag’s success prompts fans for victory marches

Azerbaijan's Qarabag FC has finally secured its place among Europe's elite clubs by eliminating København.

In the UEFA Champions League play-offs for the first time, Qarabagh FC was able to defeat a more experienced team.

Although Qarabag FC lost to København in return match (2:1) due to the victory in Baku with a score 1: 0 the team has qualified to the group stage.

The victory prompted Qarabag FC fans to victory marches along Baku streets. The car procession started from Azneft Square. Then, football fans went to Freedom Square, where they began to dance under the sounds of car alarms. They chanted slogans to the glory of "Qarabag".

 Also, hundreds of fans welcomed the club at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

Vice-President of the FC, Tahir Gozal, thanked those who came to congratulate over the historic success.

UEFA Champions League group stage draw will be held on Thursday.
