An opening ceremony for the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Individual Apparatus World Cup was held in the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku Mar. 16.
The ceremony was dedicated to Azerbaijan’s most beautiful holiday Novruz.
The opening ceremony’s guests watched traditional characters of Novruz – Bahar Qizi, Kosa and Kechal.
At the same time, the Azerbaijani landscape, national decor elements, handicrafts and carpets were demonstrated on the screen at the National Gymnastics Arena.
The first day of the new Olympic cycle’s first FIG Artistic Gymnastics Individual Apparatus World Cup kicked off at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku March 16 and will continue until March 19. Athletes from 23 countries will perform at the World Cup to be hosted by the Azerbaijani capital for the second time.
Qualifications will be held on the first two days of the event followed by the Apparatus Finals on last two days.
