Baku is getting closer and closer to the day it will once again witness the exciting Formula 1 race on its streets. Preparations are well underway, say the organizers of the competition, which is scheduled for June 23-25.
Head of the Marketing and Communications at Baku City Circuit Nigar Arpadarai said that ticket selling is going on normal, and even better than last year.
Tickets for the next "Formula 1" competition have been acquired in more than 40 countries so far.
As much as 40 percent of the tickets were purchased from Russia. “Top 10 countries buying tickets are Russia, Great Britain, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Arab countries. The number of those purchasing tickets online is increased in Azerbaijan. This shows an increase of trust,” she said.
Azerbaijan will host Formula 1, the significant sporting event of the year, for the second time.
Unlike 2016, this year, the country joins the race with a different name, as Formula 1 Grand Prix in Baku was renamed to the Grand Prix of Azerbaijan.
A variety of ticket options are on offer for the 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, including various packages for the Absheron Grandstand, which will offer fans some fantastic views of the start/finish lane, as well as a wide range of different Grandstand seating options, located at various corners and straights along the track.
Tickets for the 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix are available to purchase online via www.bakucitycircuit.com from December 2.
The 2017 season of Formula 1 will begin on March 26 in Australia and conclude on November 26 in Abu Dhabi, and will include five back-to-back race weekends. The race is expected to be held in 20 countries.
