/AzerNews/Azerbaijani wrestler Mikail Rakhmanov became the world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling at the FILA Junior World Championships being held in Zrenjanin, Serbia.
On his way to the final, the Azerbaijani athlete sealed wins over the champions of South Africa, Bulgaria, Russia, and Uzbekistan and in the final Rakhmanov won the gold medal defeating the Ukrainian champion.
On the first day of the tournament Azerbaijan was represented by the national team in Greco-Roman wrestling, which included Mikail Rakhmanov, Niyazi Mammadov, Zahid Alekperzade, Sanan Alimirzayev and Adambek Shidukov.
FILA Junior World Championships started on August 20. Azerbaijan is represented by 10 Greco-Roman wrestlers, 5 girls and 10 freestylers. Referee Intigam Aliyev represents the country as well.
