Tofig Bahramov stadium to be commissioned within a month

Work on reconstruction of the Baku stadium named after Tofig Bahramov is at the final stage.

The Ministry of Youth & Sports informs that the stadium is undergoing active repair work under the supervision of experts of FIFA and UEFA in accordance with international standards.

"We plan to put this stadium into operation in May or June of this year," the Ministry emphasized.

Works are carried out by South Korean company Samhoa, which strictly follows international standards, and sends monthly reports on the reconstruction to FIFA and UEFA.

The total area of the stadium 85,700 sq m. Its capacity of 29,870 seats will be increased by another 2,500 seats, and as a result the number of seats will reach 31,200 ones. It will be built 16 special rooms called "family" here

Under the newly-constructed platform changing rooms are being built. The can be used by four teams simultaneously. There is also a special computer-equipped 500-seat box for the press at the podium. There will also be created VIP-seats for 500 people and a VIP-restaurant. It was stressed that the seats at the stadium will be completely reconstructed.

Older lighting poles will be dismantled, a new lighting system will be connected to the special facilities over seats. After additional construction work at the stadium it will be upgraded treadmills. Drainage and heating systems will be installed under the turf field. The turf itself will be upgraded. The stadium will be equipped with additional systems of cameras.
