Azeri chess player to vie for ACP Women Cup 2012

Azeri woman chess player Zeynab Mammadyarova will compete in the final tournament of the Association of Chess Professionals Women Cup 2012 in Tbilisi, Georgia, next month. Zeynab Mammadyarova, Maia Chiburdanidze and Nana Dzagnidze from Georgia and Alexandra Kosteniuk from Russia are invited by the Georgian Chess Federation.

Eight qualifiers from the ACP Women Series are Kosintseva Nadezhda and Kosintseva Tatiana from Russia, Muzychuk Anna from Slovenia, Cmilyte Viktorija from Lithuania, Stefanova Antoaneta from Bulgaria, Cramling Pia from Sweden, Lahno Katerina from Ukraine and Zatonskih Anna from the US.

This will be one of the strongest tournaments in the history of women chess with three world champions and five Olympic champions participating among the world`s twelve top women players. The event has the highest ever prize fund for a women rapid round-robin competition that amounts to 40000 USD, with 10000 USD going for a winner.
