In Azerbaijan, the foreigners can get education in doctorate only with tuition fees, vice president of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Arif Hashimov said on Saturday.
He said this was reflected in the "Rules for establishment of doctorate and admission to doctorate".
"Foreign citizens who wish to study in doctoral programs can submit documents from Sept. 1. They will pass exams like the citizens of Azerbaijan, but education for them will be with tuition fees," said Hashimov.
He said the annual tuition fee for doctorate will be 2,500 manat. Foreign citizens can be exempted from the tuition fees in special cases. However, the educational institutions must address this question within their competence on the basis of the "Rules for establishment of doctorate and admission to doctorate".
The foreigners wishing to study in doctoral programs must also pass an exam on the Azerbaijani language, said Hashimov. There are plans to conduct exams on admission to doctorate as well as an exam on the Azerbaijani language for foreigners in October.
