
Azerbaijan has broad opportunities to develop archaeological tourism, Chairman of Public Association "Heritage", candidate of historical sciences Fariz Khalili said.
He said that there are individual initiatives to develop archaeological tourism in Azerbaijan.
"The operations are held on the territory of Gabala, Shamkir, Agsu and Jalilabad regions," he said. "But this is not enough. These archaeological sites must become tour facilities."
He said that archaeological tourism is an innovation that has already gained success in many countries around the world.
