Participants of the 5th General Assembly of the Black Sea Association of National News Agencies (BSANNA), hosted by AzerTAc, have today visited the National History Museum of Azerbaijan.
The participants were informed on the history of the museum.

As stated, the museum building was built in 1895-1897 on the basis of chief architect Josef Goslavsky’s project. The mansion was the residence of famous entrepreneur and philanthropist of Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev and since 1920 the building began its activity as a museum.
About 300 thousand patterns immortalizing the history of Azerbaijani nation are saved in various funds of the museum.

The museum was repaired under the initiative of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev in 2004-2007.

The museum operates as scientific research and cultural-enlightenment institution under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).

Participants also familiarized themselves with exhibits of the Memorial House-Museum of Haji Zeynal Abdin Tagiyev.
