14 villages, 20 thousand people, more than 4300 families suffered from the floods in Azerbaijan

The Health Ministry of Azerbaijan spread information about the measures taken in the flooded areas.
According to the plan of measures, additional groups of medical workers, ambulances were sent to the disaster areas, press service of the Health Ministry said. The experts of the Hygienic and Epidemiological Center were also involved in the operations.

The Republican Clinic Hospital, Scientific Surgery Center, the Institute of Blood Diseases and Transfusion organized the medical brigades and sent to the regions of Sabirabad and Zardab. The brigades of therapists, gynecologists, cardiologists and pediatricians were also sent to the disaster areas. A medical center was established in a tent camp in Boranli village of Sabirabad. Mobile medical groups are working in the disaster areas. The medical points and groups were supplied with medical equipments, medicines and anti-toxic serums.

The flooding caused damage to 14 villages, about 20,000 people, more than 4300 families. They have settled in the tent camp, vocational schools and secondary schools. The people in the tent camps have been provided with necessary medicine, the Ministry of Health has given them men, women and children’s clothes etc. Doctors are mainly appealed in connection with heart, blood pressure and diabetes problems.

Hygiene and epidemiological centers are doing disinfection several times a day to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Ambulances, medical servants of the regions close to the danger area have been mobilized in connection with the emergency situation. The Ministry of Health is controlling the medical and sanitary rules and it will continue until the danger is eliminated.
