Azerbaijan's calls to intensify global fighting against cyber-crime

Society should request that the UN strengthens the fight against cyber-security, Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov said during the first International Model UN Security Council Conference being held in Baku on Monday.

According to him, Azerbaijan along with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is working on the preparation of an international convention on cybercrime.

According to the acting minister, the issue of combating negative phenomena in the virtual environment at international level takes on particular significance nowadays.

"Evidence to date documented on cyber security of the European Union does not have wide coverage. This raises the need to address this issue at a global level," Abbasov said.
