Japan to fund another project for reconstruction of irrigation system in Saatli region

In the frame of Grant Assistance for Grassroots and Human Security Projects (GGP), the Japanese Government will implement another project for reconstruction of irrigation system in Mezreli and Naharli villages of Saatli district of Azerbaijan.


A ceremony to sign relevant agreement was held in the said district. At the event attended by district authorities, the agreement was signed by Ambassador of Japan to Azerbaijan Shusuke Watanabe and “For Sustainable Development” Public Association Namig Heydarov.

The grants provided by Japanese Government to finance numerous programs in versatile economic spheres in Azerbaijan totally have reached $1,2 billion, Amb. Shusuke Watanabe said.
Hitherto, at Ambassador’s words, three grant projects at total amount of $292 thousands 789 have been realized in Saatli district.

Chairman of “For Sustainable Development” Public Association Namig Heydarov said the implementation of similar projects of social importance will be realized also in the years to come. Two thousands of population of the two villages will benefit from the new project, he emphasized.
