
The exhibition "Azerbaijani painters" by honored artist Ashraf Heybatov opened in New Delhi on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of India-Azerbaijan diplomatic relations.
Azerbaijani ambassador to India, Nepal and Sri-Lanka Ibrahim Hajiyev provided information at the event about the history and centuries-long culture of Azerbaijan. He noted that decoration of Indian Presidential Palace`s ceiling and walls with miniatures dedicated to great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi`s poems is a manifestation of how ancient relationships between the countries are.
Hajiyev briefed participants on the development of Azerbaijan and its increasing prestige in the region and the world.
Secretary General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations S. Goel said he is happy that such an event marking 20th anniversary of India-Azerbaijan diplomatic relations is held in New Delhi. According to him, such events enrich culture of both countries.
The event, organized by the Azerbaijani embassy and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, will run until December 14.
