National libraries of Azerbaijan and Greece boost coop

Azerbaijan`s National Library after M.F. Akhundzade has signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with the Greek National Library. The document was signed by director of the Azerbaijan National Library Karim Tahirov and his Greek counterpart Antonia Arapova.

Speaking to the signing ceremony, Tahirov said: “The national library of Greece has become our 28th partner that we signed an agreement on cooperation with.” He noted the MoU provided for a series of measures aimed at boosting the bilateral cooperation.

“We will particularly focus on reciprocal organization of book exhibitions. I believe the number of books published in Greece will grow in our library,” Tahirov added.

He expressed confidence the agreement would also “contribute to expanding the cultural relations between our people”.

Director of the Greek National Library Arapova stressed the importance of the memorandum, noting it would boost and expand the bilateral cooperation.
