Baku Boulevard prepares for New Year - PHOTOS

As in previous years, Baku Boulevard is going to please the visitors this year ,the deputy chief of the Department of Seaside Boulevard of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan ,Nazim Majidov, said. He noted that at least 10 Christmas trees will be installed in Seaside Park.

However, Majidov said that this year no ice rink will be installed at Baku Bullard. “Earlier it was possible to establish ice rink in the territory of Little Venice, but after its reconstruction establishment of the ice rink is not possible due to lack of space," he said.

He said for the operation of the ice rink the air temperature must be below 10 degrees. “Although the temperature falls below this mark in Baku, then it rises again. So for us, it is not profitable, as the ice rink was installed in the open air,” he said.
 
The Baku Boulevard Administration already launched preparation work in connection with the winter season. Majidov said the trees are covered with a special material, because the frost can adversely affect them. For example, the baobab tree, cactus and ornamental trees are not yet fully adapted to our climate. Cacti are covered in full, and the work on the baobabs completed in the coming days. Special "caps"  are made for palms.”
