Ecelogy ministry forecast flood and torrents

The intermittent floods passed from rivers due to rainy weather in Azerbaijan, senior hydrologist of the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Asif Verdiyev reported.

According to him, intermittent floods passed from Ayrichay, Bashdashagilchay, Turyan, Damiraparan rivers crossing from Shaki, Oguz and Gabala regions, torrent was observed in Goychay due to the heavy rains.

Verdiyev said that the water level increased in most of rivers: “Most rains were observed in Gabala, Naftalan, Goychay, Oguz and Barda regions. The water level raising was observed in Gandjachay river (Small Caucasus), Gudyalchay, Velvelechay rivers (Great Caucasus), Nakhchivanchay river (Nakhchivan AR), as well as rivers of Lankaran-Astara region”.

He said that the water level in Kur river increased by 3cm, Ganikh river – 13cm.

Verdiyev said that thunder, rainy weather are expected in the mountainous and sub-mountainous regions on July 11 at night and in the evening. Intermittent floods and torrents will pass from some rivers.
