
The Icheri Sheher Historical-Architectural Reserve (Old City) continues preparations aimed to ensure that foreign tourists and visitors who will visit Azerbaijan to join the Eurovision 2012 Song Contest were able to take joyful tours in the Icheri Sheher and Gala Reserves.
The Reserve Management reported that employees of hotels, catering and trade centers already passed the English language courses. A corresponding single uniform was designed for museum guides, as well as workshops’ employees.
On the eve of the Eurovision, there will be started an interesting project called "Ask me". According to the project, local and foreign volunteers will be walk in the reserves’ territory in T-shirts with the words "Ask me" and provide tourist information they need, give them pamphlets and promotional materials. Currently, volunteers undergo training organized by the Reserve Management.
Moreover, three additional information points were installed here to provide information about tours to tourists. The first phase of the museum and conservation work in the Maiden's Tower, which is a symbol of the city of Baku, was completed. Currently, the work is underway we to expand the exposition area and changes methods of presenting it. The number of catering facilities and sites that offer delicious samples of the national cuisine were increased.
