
The Culture and Tourism Ministry of Azerbaijan has not yet sent draft law " On Tourism" to World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
Head of Tourism Sector of Culture and Tourism Ministry Aydin Ismiyev has reported that after completion of public discussion the draft law will be translated into English language and sent to UNWTO to get reference from the organization experts.
" The draft law has not yet been sent to UNWTO and the exact date when it will be sent is not known either ",- A. Ismiyev said.
At that Culture and Tourism Ministry still hopes for discussion of the draft law " On Tourism" in the autumn session of the Parliament.
"After reference from UNWTO is received, the draft law will be sent to the Cabinet of Ministers, and it will carry out all procedures on its submission to the country Parliament. The draft law is likely to be put for discussion in autumn session of the Parliament ",- A. Ismiyev added.
The current law " On Tourism" went into effect in 1999, and was adopted with taking into account Azerbaijan’s relations with the world countries in 90s and geo strategic position for that period. Main purpose for development of the new draft law is complex regulation of public relations in tourism sphere, correspondence of tourism services with modern standards and provision of Azerbaijan tourism market’s integration to the world market.
