Penalties for violation of traffic rules increased

The Azerbaijani parliament made changes to the Code of Administrative Violations.
 According to the changes and amendments, traffic infraction fines were increased. The amount of money penalty for non-fastening seat belt was increased from AZN 15 to 40.

Penalty for over speeding was also increased: AZN 20 for over speeding by 10-30 km/h (currently AZN 15-20), AZN 100 for over speeding by 30-60 km/h (currently AZN 20-40) and AZN 150 for over speeding by more than 60 km/h (currently AZN 40-60).

Money penalty for driving without license was increased from AZN 60 to 100, for double infraction a year - from AZN 80-100 to 200.

Money penalty for injuring people or damaging their property while driving without license was increased to AZN 400 (currently AZN 140-180).

AZN 250 fine is offered for driving a vehicle having used alcohol, drugs, psychotropic agents. At present the amount of this fine is AZN 150-200. The amount of the fines for violation of stopping, standing and parking rules has also been increased. AZN 20 fine has been set for such violations (currently AZN 15-20).

The amount of fine for stopping vehicles at the bus stop or 15m nearer than road signs has been increased by AZN 40 (currently AZN 15-20).

Fines for driving against traffic flow have been increased by AZN 100 (currently AZN 20-40).

The person, who after committing administrative offence pays the fine, fee for evacuation and storage of the vehicle at the car pound, before the court passes decision, is freed from administrative responsibility.

According to the amendments to the Code, penalty scores regarding driving restrictions have been increased from 10 scores to 12.
