Turkey gains 1.3 billion USD by hazelnut export

Turkey, which owns a large part of world's hazelnut production and export, obtained an income of 1.3 billion USD by hazelnut export in the first eight months of hazelnut season in 2010-2011.

Turkey exported 213,139 tons of hazelnut in the mentioned period, according to figures of Black Sea Hazelnut & Products Exporters' Union.

Turkey is exporting hazelnut to nearly 90 countries.

160,678 tons of hazelnut were exported to EU countries in the first eight months of hazelnut season which is between September 1, 2010 and April 30, 2011.

Turkey had exported 168,175 tons of hazelnut and obtained 1.048 billion USD in the same period of last season.
