German artist`s exhibition kicks off in Baku

The solo exhibition "Colors of life" featuring works dedicated to Azerbaijan by German artist, professor of the Berlin-based Academy of Arts, Inga Schmidt, was opened at the Exhibition Hall of Museum Center in Baku on May 27.

The event brought together Head of Humanitarian Policy Department of the President`s Office Fatma Abdullazade, Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev, as well as famous figures, artists and others.

At the event, Minister Abulfaz Garayev congratulated the artist with the exhibition and wished her success.

“In her works Inga Schmidt shows people and their inner world,” Garayev noted.
It was also stressed that the exhibition was organized in the frame of the second World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku.

Omar Eldarov, Rector of the Academy of Arts and People`s Artist, said, “It can be said that we have mutual creative-pedagogical cooperation with Inga Schmidt. She has taught master classes in Azerbaijan`s Academy of Arts.”

According to Eldarov, Schmidt is a very remarkable and powerful artist. All the works presented here are full of special energy.

Chairman of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan Farhad Khalilov said that the exhibition is of special importance.

“I am glad that an exposition of Inga Schmidt`s works has been opened in Baku, and all amateurs of art will have a chance to get acquainted with her creative work,” he said.

The exposition, which includes 27 works by the German painter, will last until June 2.
