Azerbaijani Ecology Ministry: We assess the activity of companies in oil-gas sector positively

Azerbaijan assesses the activity of companies in oil-gas sector, positively, said the Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Novruz Guliyev at the 18th Oil & gas Conference-2011.

He noted that, ecological problems of end of 19th century and beginning of 20th century remained as heritage for Azerbaijan: "Different works are underway for elimination of these problems".

He also noted that, special plan was made for prevention of oil spill. At the same time, deputy minister has informed about the works in alternative energy sphere.

According to him, removing of oil-gas objects from settlements, abolishment of old devices, their modernization, decrease or elimination of wastes are one of the actual problems for Azerbaijan.
