Baku to host International Insurance Forum next month

Baku will host the 2nd Azerbaijan International Insurance Forum on July 7-8, 2011 to be organized by the Azerbaijan Insurers Union (AIU) and Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan.

AIU sources said that the forum will highlight the prospects of the insurance market of Azerbaijan aiming to inform the participants about the changes in the insurance market of Azerbaijan and to develop the integration into the international market of insurance services. It will also cover the prospects of cooperation between the representatives of the world’s insurance unions, exchange of experiences, business meetings of the insurers and development of partnership relations.

The issues of obligatory insurance, life insurance, relations between the banking system and insurance market will be discussed in the two-day forum. Officials of the Azerbaijani and international insurance companies will participate in the forum.

The development of insurance market due to increase of population’s property and material-technical potential in Azerbaijan will also be on agenda. AzRe Tekrarsigorta, International Insurance Company, Garant Sigorta, Ateshgah Sigorta, AXA MBASK, Standard Insurance, Azal Sigorta, A-Group, Azersigorta, Basak Inam Sigorta, Azerbaijan Sanaye Sigorta and Pasa Hayat companies will sponsor the event.

AIU was established in December, 2006 and currently 28 insurance companies are the members of this organization. Annual membership fee is AZN 5000.
